South Korea’s KOSPI index closed down 466.06 points, or 6.4%, at 6,818.35 on Thursday, July 16; South Korea’s KOSDAQ index closed down 4.5%; SK Hynix fell 11%, and Samsung Electronics dropped 8%. South Korean authorities stated that they would soon announce measures to address the controversy surrounding leveraged ETFs linked to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix shares, which have exacerbated stock market volatility.
