Svmuu News: The London Stock Exchange plans to launch a night trading session in the first half of 2027, joining the ranks of global exchanges that offer or plan to offer nearly 24-hour trading. Traditional exchanges are facing competition from the cryptocurrency market and tokenized stock platforms.
The night trading venue will operate independently of the main market, with trading hours from 5:00 p.m. to 7:50 a.m. the following day, London time. Initially, it will offer exchange-traded products, including those tracking the UK or U.S. stock markets.
The London Stock Exchange’s main market will continue to operate during standard hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. LSE CEO Julia Hoggett said there is growing demand among retail investors to gain exposure to UK and global assets during London trading hours.
