Svmuu News: Ondo Perps, a perpetual futures trading platform, has launched a tokenized stock collateral feature. All users can now use Ondo Stocks tokenized stocks as margin to collateralize their perpetual futures positions.
The feature initially supports the tokenized S&P 500 ETF (SPYon) and the Nasdaq 100 ETF (QQQon). Ondo stated that users can now utilize tokenized stocks as productive capital to participate in derivatives trading without having to convert funds into stablecoins or sell their holdings.Ondo Perps reports that the platform’s cumulative trading volume has now exceeded $3.8 billion, with trader demand primarily focused on the following areas: hedging stock risk within a single platform; providing deep liquidity for stock perpetual contracts; lower spreads and reduced slippage; execution speeds comparable to centralized exchanges (CEXs);24/7 trading; and up to 20x leverage.
Ondo stated that the tokenized stock collateral feature is a key component of its “productive capital” strategy, which aims to enhance the capital efficiency of tokenized stocks and drive the liquidity and efficiency of the on-chain stock perpetual contracts market to gradually approach that of traditional derivatives markets.
Previously, Ondo Stocks pioneered the tokenization of U.S. stock assets, and now Ondo Perps further builds trading and margin mechanisms on top of tokenized assets.
Ondo noted that current perpetual contract trading is only part of its broader vision; in the future, it will continue to build on-chain prime brokerage infrastructure covering functions such as trading, financing, and margin management, providing a more comprehensive financial services layer for the tokenized asset ecosystem.
