Svmuu News: High-net-worth individuals with financial assets exceeding 10 billion won are also actively buying leveraged ETFs linked to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Among retail investors, those in their 40s accounted for the largest volume of purchases of single-stock leveraged ETFs for Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.
The Seoul Economic Daily commissioned a major securities firm to analyze the investment portfolios of 25,000 high-net-worth individuals between May 27 and July 10 of this year. The analysis found that among the top five securities by net purchases, three were single-stock leveraged ETFs linked to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. They made net purchases of 178.1 billion won in the “KODEX SK Hynix Single-Stock Leveraged ETF” and 140.1 billion won in the “TIGER SK Hynix Single-Stock Leveraged ETF,” in addition to purchasing 116.6 billion won worth of the “KODEX Samsung Electronics Single-Stock Leveraged ETF.” Given that the remaining two of the top five holdings were also common shares of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, this indicates that affluent investors have adopted a strategy of heavily betting on South Korea’s “two giants” of the stock market.
