A $10.018 million donation to Bitcoin; the Winklevoss brothers previously donated to MAGA Inc., a super PAC affiliated with Donald Trump
Svmuu News: According to U.S. Federal Election Commission filings, on June 19, the Winklevoss brothers donated approximately $10,018,000 in “Bitcoin” to MAGA Inc., a super PAC affiliated with “Donald Trump.”This donation occurred 23 days after the CFTC announced it was joining Gemini’s application to seek an exemption from certain provisions of the 2025 ruling. The filings show that the committee sold the donated Bitcoin through Gemini. The CFTC had previously stated that, under current enforcement standards, a complaint against Gemini would not be filed, citing that Gemini itself was a victim of fraud and noting changes in federal digital asset policy. Both parties have petitioned the court to lift the permanent injunction, but the $5 million fine already paid by Gemini will not be refunded.
