Musk: Micron has supplied Tesla with a “large quantity” of memory chips
Svmuu News: Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed that Micron (MU.O) recently supplied Tesla (TSLA.O) with a “large quantity” of memory chips, meeting the automaker’s demand for this increasingly scarce commodity.Musk stated that, given the scarcity and high prices of memory chips, the terms of the deal in which Micron supplied chips to Tesla were very reasonable. In the long term, Musk is committed to producing semiconductors in-house.The billionaire has launched an ambitious project called “Terafab,” aimed at producing computing and memory chips on an unprecedented scale. For now, Tesla still relies on Micron. Data shows that neither Tesla nor SpaceX ranks among Micron’s top ten customers. (Jin Shi)
