Svmuu News: According to an official announcement, the cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX will officially shut down on September 23, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (Beijing Time) and will stop accepting new user registrations effective immediately. BitMEX stated that the board of directors of its parent company, HDR Global Trading Limited, decided to close the exchange following a strategic review.
The platform will continue to operate normally until its closure, but starting at 12:00 on August 26 (Beijing Time), new positions will be restricted, and users will only be able to reduce their positions. Any remaining positions after the closure time will be forcibly liquidated. KYC-verified users who have not withdrawn their assets before the closure time will be charged an account maintenance fee of $50 per month or 1% of their balance, whichever is higher; this fee is subject to increase.
