Recently, in a new ruling, a South Korean court ordered him to pay his ex-wife 944 billion won (approximately $643 million) in divorce settlement, bringing this protracted, high-stakes divorce case to a close. If the ruling becomes final, it will mark the highest-value divorce settlement in South Korean history. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Chey Tae-won’s current net worth stands at approximately $5.6 billion, having more than doubled over the past year. The court has not yet specified whether this massive sum will be paid in cash or in stock.
