Svmuu News: SK Hynix is accelerating construction of its advanced semiconductor packaging plant at P&T7 in Cheongju, bringing forward the commissioning of its first cleanroom by about three months. According to industry sources on July 23, SK Hynix currently expects to commission the first cleanroom at P&T7 as early as July 2027. The company had previously announced a target date of October 2027.
An industry insider revealed, “SK Hynix recently moved up the tender process for utility and infrastructure projects for the P&T7 cleanroom. Internal estimates suggest the cleanroom will be operational about one quarter earlier than originally planned.” Some equipment-related tender projects failed to attract bidders and are currently being re-advertised. Industry insiders expect that the bidding process for all utility and infrastructure projects will be completed by August at the latest. (STAR Market Daily)
