Svmuu News: In recent years, to combat transnational telecommunications fraud, China has carried out international law enforcement cooperation with more than 30 countries, including Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and Myanmar, establishing effective mechanisms and achieving significant results.
Jiang Guoli, Director of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, stated that since 2023, China has strengthened police cooperation with Myanmar to comprehensively eradicate large-scale telecommunications fraud complexes along the northern border of Myanmar. A total of more than 59,000 suspects involved in fraud have been apprehended and handed over, and the notorious “Four Major Families” criminal syndicate in Kokang, northern Myanmar, has been completely dismantled. In early 2025, China, Myanmar, and Thailand established a ministerial-level coordination mechanism to jointly combat telecommunications fraud. They launched a joint crackdown on telecommunications fraud in Myawaddy, carried out 10 consecutive joint repatriation operations, and completely demolished more than 630 buildings in the KK complex in Myawaddy.
