Svmuu News: According to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) sent a letter to Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott and Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren expressing support for the latest version of the CLARITY Act.
The FOP stated that Section 10604 of the amended Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA) has addressed its previous concerns regarding law enforcement authority, and that the relevant provisions will not limit law enforcement officers’ ability to investigate digital asset-related crimes. The FOP represents more than 382,000 law enforcement officers.
However, Eleanor Terrett pointed out that the BRCA section of the latest version of the CLARITY Act has not actually been amended, and it remains unclear exactly which provisions the FOP is referring to as “revised language.”
