Svmuu News: The cryptocurrency trading platform Coinbase has launched AI-agent-initiated payment support through Coinbase Business. Merchants can use the x402 open payment standard developed by Coinbase to receive USDC payments via their own software, and manage, reconcile, and convert related funds within the same account.
Coinbase Launched in June 2025, Business has signed up approximately 5,000 customers and has processed a cumulative payment and transaction volume of approximately $1 billion.Businesses using this service can earn a 3.35% reward on eligible idle USDC balances; early use cases have focused on digital services such as APIs, cloud storage, and domain names.
Coinbase has also added real-time trading functionality to “Coinbase for Agents,” allowing AI agents to monitor pending orders, view market depth, and track real-time prices and trading volume.Users can also set conditions using natural language, though related operations remain subject to user-defined restrictions.
