Svmuu News: U.S. federal investigators allege that eight downloadable games infected with malware compromised approximately 8,000 devices, allowing attackers to access about 80 cryptocurrency wallets and transfer at least $220,000 in digital assets. The FBI is continuing its investigation and searching for potential victims.
According to the criminal complaint, the operation ran from May 2024 through February 2026. Zyaire Dontaevious Zamarion Wilkins, a 21-year-old resident of North Lauderdale, Florida, is accused of providing financial support for the malware operation and assisting in promoting related activities.
Court documents indicate that the malware collected passwords, wallet credentials, browser data, and other sensitive information after users installed the games. Investigators stated that Discord, Telegram, X, and LinkedIn were used to promote these games, and automated bots also searched online communities for users holding large amounts of cryptocurrency.
The FBI is gathering information on individuals who have downloaded BlockBlasters, Chemia, Dashverse/DashFPS, Lampy, Lunara, PirateFi, Tokenova, or other related games. Wilkins currently faces one count of conspiracy to obtain computer information for private economic gain, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
