Svmuu News: “On-chain detective” ZachXBT posted on his personal channel, stating that Telegram continues to allow its channels to display scam ads to subscribers, which affects the user experience and poses potential security risks.
ZachXBT noted that if users are Telegram Premium members and wish to support his channel’s upgrade, they can use the channel’s “Boost” feature to help it meet the level requirements, thereby unlocking the option to disable ads. Currently, the channel needs to reach Level 50 to enable the ad-disabling option.
ZachXBT has long monitored scams, hacking attacks, and on-chain fund tracking in the crypto industry, and has repeatedly exposed incidents involving phishing attacks, fraudulent projects, and fund theft.
In this instance, he questioned Telegram’s advertising mechanism, arguing that the platform’s allowance of scam-related ads in crypto community channels may increase users’ risk of encountering malicious links and fraudulent activities.
