NVIDIA Invested $1 billion in NAVER to acquire a 4.5% stake, becoming its third-largest shareholder
South Korean internet giant NAVER announced on July 27 that NVIDIA had acquired a 4.5% stake in NAVER through a third-party private placement worth $1 billion (approximately 1.48 trillion won), becoming its third-largest shareholder. This move marks the first time NVIDIA has entered a local internet platform in Asia’s core AI market as a strategic shareholder.At the same time, NAVER signed a preliminary agreement with global asset management firm BoFeng for up to $9 billion in funding for its “AI Factory” to expand its data center in Sejong City. BoFeng serves as the operator of NVIDIA’s “Global AI Infrastructure Initiative.”
