1inch Launches the Aqua Liquidity Protocol on 13 Blockchains
The decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator 1inch has opened its shared liquidity protocol, Aqua, to users; the protocol currently supports 13 Ethereum Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible chains. The Aqua protocol allows liquidity providers to keep their assets in their own wallets and use a single balance to maintain multiple positions, without having to spread their funds across different pools. This move aims to address the issue of low liquidity utilization; a study commissioned by 1inch previously found that, in the first half of 2026, 85% of the $1.84 billion in liquidity tracked by major centralized liquidity exchanges was underutilized. To encourage adoption, the 1inch Foundation has committed 10 million 1INCH tokens, and the 1inch DAO has contributed an additional $500,000 in USDC, jointly launching a three-month liquidity incentive program with a total value of approximately $1.37 million.
