Dow Jones rises 659 points on strong Coca-Cola and Sherwin-Williams earnings
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 659 points, or 1.3%, on Tuesday, driven by strong earnings reports from Coca-Cola and Sherwin-Williams. The S&P 500 rose 0.3%, while the Nasdaq Composite finished little changed. The market saw a broad rotation out of technology stocks, with chip stocks notably declining amid concerns over AI spending and China's advancements in the sector. Meanwhile, falling oil prices also provided support to the broader market.
