On Wednesday, Asian tech stocks continued their downward trend, with the semiconductor sector leading the decline. Among them, South Korea’s SK Hynix fell more than 10%, and Samsung Electronics dropped more than 4%;Japan’s Kioxia fell 10%, Tokyo Electron dropped 8.5%, and SoftBank Group (considered a bellwether for AI investments through its stake in Arm) saw its shares fall more than 7%; Hong Kong’s Hang Seng China Semiconductor Chip Index fell more than 5%; and the TSMC fell 1.32%.Earlier, U.S. semiconductor stocks also fell overnight.
