GE HealthCare on Wednesday reported second-quarter profit that beat Wall Street estimates. The medical device maker was boosted by strong demand for its diagnostic and imaging devices, as well as $129 million in refunds for tariffs imposed under former U.S. President Donald Trump.
GE HealthCare posted a net income of $561 million, up from $486 million last year, and revenue of $5.30 billion, exceeding analysts' estimates of $5.26 billion. Its shares rose 12% in premarket trading. The company noted that its adjusted core margin was 40 basis points lower than a year ago due to inflation and geopolitical instability.
