ECB outlines digital euro app accessibility features, exceeding EU standards
The European Central Bank (ECB) has detailed the accessibility features for the upcoming digital euro app, which will allow users to access basic digital euro services. The proposed design incorporates the highest level of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) for mobile payment applications, exceeding the requirements of the European Accessibility Act. The app is currently under development and will be tested during the digital euro pilot launching in 2027.
