Seoul police reported that a fake Flare Network staking site defrauded 71 investors of 3.4 million XRP, worth approximately $8.5 million, last year. Two alleged scammers have been detained on aggravated fraud charges, while a third remains at large. Authorities believe the total amount scammed could rise to nearly $20 million. The site operated for a week in October, promising monthly returns of 1.5% to 1.8% on XRP deposits.
