On July 31, the Chinese A-share market saw a strong rebound in sectors related to semiconductor chips, computing hardware, and AI, driving major stock indices to surge. The ChiNext Index soared by more than 6%, while the STAR 50 Index rose nearly 9%. Changxin Technology gained nearly 13% during intraday trading, with its total market capitalization surpassing 4 trillion yuan.In Hong Kong, memory chip-related stocks also surged significantly, with GigaDevice rising over 20% and the Southern Double Leveraged SK Hynix ETF soaring more than 50%. This rally was partly driven by the overnight strength of U.S. semiconductor stocks and news that Amazon had raised its capital expenditure forecast for the AI sector to $220 billion.
