An analysis by Yahoo Finance suggests that Robinhood Markets (HOOD) stock, currently 43% off its high, could present a buying opportunity for risk-tolerant investors, despite concerns over its reliance on riskier products for growth. In the second quarter, Robinhood's total revenue increased 32% year-over-year, significantly slower than last year's triple-digit growth. This was primarily driven by a tenfold increase in prediction market event contracts revenue to $156 million and a 95% rise in core equities trading revenue. However, cryptocurrency trading revenue decreased by 38% year-over-year, impacted by Bitcoin's decline. The platform added 1.9 million funded accounts (up 7% YoY) and 1.5 million new Gold members (up 39% YoY) in the quarter, while also expanding into traditional financial products like credit cards and banking services.
