Japan plans to foster space industry competition, aiming to drastically increase successful rocket launches and find its 'next SpaceX'
The country intends to introduce a program modeled after the U.S. initiative that helped SpaceX rise to prominence. This move comes as Japan seeks to significantly boost its rocket launch success rate; last year, Japan launched only 3 satellite rockets, compared with 192 for the U.S.
