South Korea's FSC Announces Revised Anti-Vishing Rules Take Effect Today, August 4, Enabling Broader Information Sharing via ASAP, Including Virtual Asset Data
The revised rules, under the Special Act on the Prevention of Loss Caused by Telecommunications-based Financial Fraud and Refund for Loss, allow financial companies, telecom service providers, and investigation authorities to more easily and quickly share voice phishing (vishing)-related information through the AI-based Anti-Phishing Sharing and Analysis Platform (ASAP). The scope of participating entities now includes virtual asset service providers, electronic financial service providers, and various financial and telecom regulators. The Financial Security Institute (FSI) has been selected as the ASAP operator, and system upgrades are complete to facilitate immediate sharing of suspicious information.
