He emphasized that Iran would strike US warships if they entered "illegal routes" in the Strait of Hormuz. Rezaei also insisted that Iran "will not allow any route in the Strait of Hormuz other than the Iranian route under any circumstances" and accused Washington of violating the June memorandum of understanding.
