NVIDIA announced that its Alpamayo 2 Super open inference model is now available for commercial use, designed to help robotaxis and autonomous vehicles (AVs) address rare and complex driving situations that are difficult to predict and train for. The model is built on the NVIDIA Cosmos 3 Super Reasoner and post-trained with reinforcement learning, offering an Open Commercial License (OpenMDW-1.1) that allows AV developers, automakers, and suppliers to fine-tune, create derivative models, and commercially redistribute. Alpamayo 2 Super ranks first in the LingoQA autonomous driving reasoning benchmark, outperforming Qwen2.5-VL 72B, Gemini 2.5 Pro, and GPT-4o, and supports multi-task capabilities including trajectory planning, causal chain tracing, meta-actions, reasoning auto-annotation, and visual question answering, providing a development workflow from cloud to in-vehicle.
