India's central bank keeps benchmark rates steady at 5.25% for fifth consecutive time, despite retail inflation crossing its 4% target

India's consumer inflation reached an 18-month high of 4.38% in June, driven by surging oil prices. Economists polled by Reuters had largely anticipated the decision to keep rates unchanged.
