SpaceX shares rise 3% as major post-IPO lockup expiration does not trigger expected selloff
SpaceX (SPCX) shares climbed 3% to $111.14 on Thursday despite the expiration of its first and largest post-IPO share lockup. The expiration unlocked 911.5 million shares, more than doubling the public float, but the feared selloff did not materialize. The positive sentiment extended to other space-related stocks, with AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) and Rocket Lab (RKLB) both rising 5%. The rally is supported by SpaceX's strong Q2 2026 results, which saw revenue beat estimates by 14.6% and Starlink subscribers double to 12 million.
