Coinbase's Base App to Become 'Less Base-Centric' Under Cobie, Focus on Broader Trading Platform
Base creator Jesse Pollak stated that under new leader Jordan "Cobie" Fish, the Base app will broaden its scope to incorporate assets and features from other blockchains, shifting away from its previous focus on the Base ecosystem. Pollak will now refocus on the underlying Base blockchain, which is seeing growing demand across tokenization, trading, payments, and financing, with nearly $5 billion in DeFi assets and over $1 billion in daily trading volume. Pollak views recent blockchain launches from companies like Robinhood and Stripe as "validation" of Base's strategy.
