The Federal Reserve Bank of New York's latest Survey of Consumer Expectations report indicates that Americans' outlook for inflation in July was largely unchanged from the prior month. Consumers now expect inflation a year from now to be 3.6%, a slight decrease from June's 3.7%. Expectations for inflation three and five years out remained steady at 3.3% and 3% respectively. The report also noted that households upgraded their assessments of current and future financial situations, while expectations for home price growth held steady at 3.2%.
