Gartner (IT) stock surged 22.9% this week after reporting better-than-expected second-quarter results, raising its full-year earnings and free cash flow guidance, and increasing its share repurchase authorization by $500 million.
Gartner's adjusted earnings per share for the second quarter were $4.37, with revenue of approximately $1.7 billion, both exceeding Wall Street analysts' expectations. The company raised its full-year adjusted EPS guidance from $13.25 to $14 and its free cash flow guidance from $1.16 billion to $1.185 billion. The board of directors also approved an additional $500 million in share repurchase authorization.
