JPMorgan Chase maintained its "Overweight" rating on Japanese memory chip manufacturer Kioxia in its latest research report. The bank raised its operating profit forecasts for Kioxia for FY2027 to FY2029, citing better-than-expected recent NAND pricing and an increase in the average selling price of enterprise solid-state drives (eSSDs). However, JPMorgan Chase lowered Kioxia's target price from JPY 155,000 (for end-2026) to JPY 130,000 (for end-2027), believing that the market needs to see the actual performance effects of Kioxia's long-term agreements (LTAs) to re-evaluate its valuation. Additionally, Kioxia announced a share buyback program of up to JPY 800 billion.
