German automotive sector shed 42,300 jobs in year to June, employment lowest since 2005
Germany's automotive industry saw a 5.8% decline in employment in the year to the end of June, reaching its lowest level since 2005. This is attributed to falling profits in China and increasing competition from Chinese brands in Europe. Industry groups have warned of further job losses.
