Israel claims these actions are aimed at targeting Hezbollah objectives in Lebanon. Since its second invasion of Lebanon in March this year, Israeli forces have continued to attack Hezbollah targets and infrastructure in southern Lebanon, despite a ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump in April. Lebanon and Israel reached a "framework agreement" in June and launched a "pilot zone" plan, intended to test the Lebanese army's ability to disarm Hezbollah and facilitate an Israeli withdrawal. However, the plan has been met with skepticism from Hezbollah and analysts, and Israel has recently expanded its occupation of Lebanese territory. Most homes and infrastructure in the affected villages have been destroyed, and residents face water and electricity shortages. Froun municipal officials stated that the government is working to restore services, with a target date of September 15.
