Sudan rebel group SPLM-N attack on South Kordofan's Dilling kills at least five, including a child
The Sudan Doctors Network accused the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) of shelling residential areas in Dilling on Friday. This follows a separate SPLM-N attack on Thursday near Kauda, which killed over 21 people. The medical group condemned the bombardments as clear violations of international humanitarian law, exacerbating the dire humanitarian situation in Sudan. The SPLM-N, led by Abdel Aziz al-Hilu, has aligned with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). These attacks occurred despite a ceasefire initiative last month, which al-Hilu did not commit to. A UN-backed mission warned on Thursday that foreign involvement is fueling the conflict and worsening violence against civilians nationwide.
