Rich Privorotsky, head of Goldman Sachs' Delta One trading desk, stated in his latest market brief that OpenAI's new generation Astra model "stands out" as the capability breakthrough "the AI bull market has been waiting for." Following this, SoftBank's stock price rose over 10% overnight, and Oracle increased by approximately 5.5%.
OpenAI President Greg Brockman also called Astra a "generational leap" and directly declared "welcome to the AGI era," reinforcing market expectations that a leap in AI capabilities could reshape a new capital expenditure cycle. Privorotsky emphasized that a true breakthrough in model intelligence will change the demand curve, not just lead to a decrease in token prices, which will force other labs to catch up and maintain the vitality of the spending cycle.
