This phenomenon, described as an escalating phase of colonisation, has intensified since October 7, 2023. Israeli authorities reviewed 113 structural plans to expand or establish new illegal settlements in the first half of 2026, marking a strategic shift to enforce Israeli sovereignty and annex Palestinian land.
