Paramount Skydance Corporation (PSKY) CEO David Ellison has secured regulatory approval in 68 jurisdictions for his $110 billion bid to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. (WBD). However, a lawsuit led by California Attorney General Rob Bonta, representing 12 states, remains the final obstacle. Bonta has canceled a planned settlement meeting with Ellison, citing a "lack of good faith." Paramount faces a ticking fee of approximately $650 million per quarter starting September 30 if the deal is not closed, and has asked a court to compel the states to post a $1.88 billion bond.
