Elon Musk stated that SpaceX's first AI satellites, powered by Nvidia chips, will launch in Q4 2027 and reach "significant scale" in 2028. This marks the second acceleration of the timeline, which was initially set for "as early as 2028" in its May IPO prospectus and then "next year" during an August 4 earnings call. SpaceX has already secured deals with Anthropic and Google to rent orbital compute capacity.
