Solana to triple maximum transaction size to 4,096 bytes this Wednesday, enabling more complex operations
The Solana smart contract blockchain plans to activate its Transaction v1 feature this Wednesday, increasing the maximum transaction size from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes. This upgrade will provide developers over three times more space for instructions within a single operation, facilitating large cryptographic proofs, multi-signature transactions, and certain confidential transfers that previously required multiple transactions. Services that read Solana's blockchain will need to update to recognize the new format, though existing transaction formats will remain compatible.
