Maserati, the luxury brand under Stellantis, is reportedly in advanced talks with Chinese tech giant Huawei and automaker JAC Motors to establish a technology and manufacturing partnership in China, aiming for operations to commence by 2027. The proposed collaboration envisions Huawei handling product strategy and in-car technology, JAC Motors managing engineering and production, while Maserati contributes styling, branding, and its global distribution network. A "dual-brand" model is planned, where the same design would be sold in China under the Maextro brand, a collaboration between Huawei and JAC, and as Maserati in other regions. Stellantis declined to comment, stating that it engages in discussions with various industrial players globally as part of its normal operations.
