Swedish investment firm EQT has agreed to acquire a majority stake in speciality reinsurance broker McGill and Partners from Warburg Pincus for $2bn. McGill's founders, management team, and employees will reinvest alongside EQT and retain a significant ownership stake. Established in 2019, McGill has grown into a global specialty broking business with revenues exceeding $250 million and over 600 employees across seven countries. EQT plans to support McGill's growth strategy through talent recruitment, technology development, and expansion of digital solutions, while maintaining the company's independence.
