France's Champagne output is projected to fall by almost half from 2025, with production estimated at 1.34 million hectoliters, a 48% decrease from last year. The Agriculture Ministry attributes this decline to extreme weather conditions, including heat waves and drought. Overall, the country's wine production in 2026 is estimated at 34 million hectoliters, down 6% year-on-year and 17% below the five-year average.
