According to Yonhap News, the United States has demanded investment exceeding the $350 billion cap stipulated in last year's bilateral trade agreement during trade negotiations with South Korea. South Korea is currently in the final stages of negotiations with the U.S. to bring the actual investment commitment back within the previously agreed-upon amount. The South Korean government plans to brief the National Assembly on the progress of these negotiations on September 17, and a memorandum of understanding could be signed as early as the following day.
