Spanish agri-food giant Grupo Fuertes announced on September 7 its acquisition of Jamones Albarracín, a Spanish ham processing company, marking its official entry into the ham processing sector. This acquisition aims to strengthen Grupo Fuertes' core business. Jamones Albarracín, headquartered in Teruel, specializes in the curing, drying, and aging of ham, operating three production plants with a curing capacity of 4 million pieces. Grupo Fuertes stated that Jamones Albarracín will continue to operate under its existing model, with plans for post-acquisition investments to expand and modernize facilities and increase production capacity.
