Al Jazeera reported that Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon on Monday killed 12 people, displacing more residents. Although Lebanese schools are scheduled to open on September 15, many are still being used as shelters for displaced persons. UNESCO stated that schools cannot simultaneously serve as shelters and normal learning environments, calling for dignified alternative accommodation for displaced families. Lebanese Education Minister Rima Karami pledged that all students would have access to education but emphasized that displaced persons would not be evicted without alternative solutions.
