Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (HKICL) has recently identified several fraudulent websites that imitate its services, particularly a purported “Buyer Online Protection” offering refunds, unauthorized transaction reporting, and online transaction support for FPS payments. These sites attempt to trick users into providing personal document numbers, ID photos, phone numbers for real-name verification, and banking details for virtual wallet top-ups and withdrawals. HKICL emphasizes that these websites are not affiliated with the company and advises the public to report suspicious communications to the police.
