Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 42 points to close at 25,274, with the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index dipping 0.34% and the Hang Seng Tech Index falling 0.76%. Mainland stocks gained, with the Shanghai Composite Index up 0.28% to 3,951 and the Shenzhen Component Index up 0.15% to 13,723. Japan's Nikkei 225 index ended 0.19% lower at 65,142, while South Korea's KOSPI finished 1.4% higher at 7,051, its highest close since July 23.
