AMD CFO Jean Hu stated that the potential market size for AI chips could reach $2 trillion to $3 trillion by 2030, an increase from the previous estimate of $2 trillion. Boosted by this news, AMD's stock price rose 3% to $521.59 during Wednesday's trading session; Intel's stock price saw a modest increase of 1% to $105.76.

Hu also confirmed at the Citi Global TMT Conference that TSMC remains AMD's primary wafer supplier, refuting market speculation about Intel's foundry business. Intel Foundry reported an operating loss of $2.1 billion in the second quarter of 2026.
